poverty is not a problem in the uk

England, makes up a large part of the UK but there’s isn’t much that unites the rich and poor, the wealth gap shows that within England’s society people stand in different places. the homeless who fight against poverty are looked down upon and are scrutinized for their situation whilst the wealthy are aspired upon and idolized. In my essay i will discuss the statement “poverty is not a problem in the uk”

the UK’s problem with poverty is highlighted through the food banks or the fact that people are struggling so much with money they cant afford a meal. figures from food bank charity, Trussel Trust show the devastating numbers that the UK sweep under the rug. In 2016 Between April and September 514,382 people were reserved a meal at a food bank, 188,000 of which were children . (43.52% went to the food bank due to benefits, showing that its the UK government increasing the poverty population).

The numbers you viewed above may already seem drastic, but then it comes to mind that Trussel Trust is one of many organisations that actually allow the poor to go in the right direction. Poverty is a situation that must be dealt with since its something that the majority avoid and its something we leave in the dark considering the fact we sweep it under the rug is most likely the reason why many do not see poverty as a problem here in the UK.

Poverty, there are many people in this society who are under looked for their riches, you may know people in the dark. They may say life isn’t fair not knowing the government put them there, as their trying to emerge from the dark, which is a struggle especially when benefits are being cut. Poverty “is” a problem in the uk and a problem we must address if we want it to decrease.

England, makes up a large part of the united kingdom but there isn’t much that unites the rich and the poor, the wealth gap also shows that England’s society people stand in different places and large variety of lifestyles that people live. homeless are looked down on and are scrutinized whilst the wealthy are aspired upon and idolized.

In a council house in south London Phil lies in despair to his two boys about where there next meal is coming from. there are a variety of people in England, wealthy and poor, you can never be in between or just one or the other. The poor are neglected by the media for their situation, like Phil,” I live in a one bedroom flat, eviction is soon coming which i praise. it means my children will have a better life in care,a roof over there heads, three decent meals and a bed to sleep on. better job than a failed parent liken me could do but my next move is unknown, i’m one of the 43.52% who are forced to use a food bank due to benefits as a whole showing its down to the government who are to blame on increasing poverty population.
